The idea for Watermill Express came about over 20 years ago when the company’s founders, a young couple in Brighton, Colorado, learned that their local municipal drinking water had been declared unsafe for pregnant women and infants. They responded, along with friends and family, by creating an automated small-scale water purification plant that converted their existing tap water into drinking water of exceptional purity. They promoted the concept of bringing your own container which helped reduce disposable bottle waste and save money. From those humble beginnings, the company has grown to a thriving enterprise with a rapidly expanding network of locations. In spite of its impressive growth, the company remains firmly rooted in its original goal to provide safe, affordable drinking water to everyone.
