BRIGHTON, Colorado – April 17, 2014 – Watermill Express Provides Free Water For National Lemonade Day

BRIGHTON, Colorado – April 17, 2014 – Watermill Express, the nation’s largest drive-up vendor of pure drinking water, along with the city of McAllen, Texas are teaming up to help enhance the entrepreneurial spirit of McAllen youth by aiding and teaching them how to start and run their own lemonade business.

Children who participate in National Lemonade Day will each be allowed to use 10 free gallons of Watermill Express water to start their lemonade business. Each child who shows their participant number at the 10th and Zinnia Watermill Express location in McAllen, Texas will be given 10 free gallons of water between Noon and 5pm on Saturday May 3rd. The children begin selling their product on Sunday May 4th throughout various locations in McAllen.

Watermill Express will also hold a Customer Appreciation event on Sunday May 4th from 11am -5pm at the 10th and Zinnia location. Anyone who purchases lemonade from that location will get 10% off any one bottle of their choice at the event.

BRIGHTON, Colorado – December 6, 2013 – Watermill Express and H-E-B Present the 2013 4th Grade Writing Contest

BRIGHTON, Colorado – December 6, 2013 – Watermill Express®, the nation’s largest drive-up vendor of pure drinking water, along with H-E-B presented a brand new HP Laptop and a $50 H-E-B gift card to each of the 10 winners of this year’s annual writing contest in San Juan, Texas.

This year’s writing contest set a new record with just over 1,000 4th grade students participating.  Winners were chosen based on original essays submitted by the students on how healthy habits and a healthy lifestyle result in a healthy future.  In addition to the student winners, the teachers of the winning students each received a $75 gift card and Marcia Garza Elementary School won an onsite drawing for a $500 donation to the school library.

“Every teacher works hard to educate children and to see the smiles on their faces when they accomplish something great, this contest does exactly that.” said Pamela Sanchez, spokesperson for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District.  “Thank you to Watermill Express and H-E-B for putting on this wonderful writing contest.  Our community is incredibly grateful for the positive influence and dedication that Watermill Express brings throughout the year.”

This was the 8th year Watermill Express has put on the writing contest.  2013 marked the fifth year for H-E-B to partner with Watermill Express in recognizing the importance of health and the environment by honoring local students.

BRIGHTON, Colorado – November 22, 2013 – Watermill Express, the nation’s largest drive-up vendor of pure drinking water, donated $6,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Rio Grande Valley.

Watermill Express along with the Make-A-Wish Foundation partnered up to help make a young boy’s wish come true.  Tino, a 6-year old from Harlingen, Texas who suffers from acute lymphoid leukemia, wanted to meet Mickey Mouse.  Through the donation from Watermill Express to Make-A-Wish, his dream will come true.  Timo and his family will visit Disney World in Orlando, Florida, December 3rd – 9th.

“There are no words to express the gratitude the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of Make-A-Wish has for Watermill Express,” said Make-A-Wish Director Ava Sandlin.  “This donation meant so much more, as it served as a powerful public awareness tool for our chapter of Make-A-Wish.  We are in a smaller market and can’t rely on the donations of large corporations that other major cities receive.  The donation and wish fulfillment that was made possible thanks to Watermill Express will hopefully touch others in the Valley and help our chapter to grow and provide more wishes and help to children in need.  Watermill Express has shown again that it is truly a company that cares about the community.”

The Make-A-Wish Foundation has changed the lives of children with life-threatening conditions by granting their “wishes”.  The simple act of giving has had a life changing impact on not only the child but their family and those involved in the organization.

BRIGHTON, Colorado – August 13, 2013 – Watermill Express, the nation’s largest drive-up vendor of pure drinking water, provided water to Operation Lone Star in Palmview and Mission, Texas.

Watermill Express donated 200 gallons of water and 150 pounds of Waterocks® Ice to approximately 25,000 people participating in Operation Lone Star.  Watermill Express had two water stations, one set up at Palmview High School and one at Pharr-San Juan Alamo High School, to keep everyone hydrated.

Operation Lone Star is in its 14th year and is organized by the Texas Department of Health Services.  Operation Lone Star is a cooperative event among local, state and national service agencies that provides free health screenings, treatments, immunizations, physicals, hearing and vision tests to residents of South Texas.  This year, the U.S. Public Health Service will participate for the third time, bringing in medical staff from around the country to help with the event.

BRIGHTON, Colorado – July 1, 2013 – Watermill Express, the nation’s largest drive-up vendor of pure drinking water, provided water to the Jump Rope for Heart event at Sam’s Stadium in Brownsville, Texas.

Watermill Express donated 60 gallons of water and 60 pounds of Waterocks® Ice to approximately 1000 students and faculty from all 16 Brownsville elementary schools during the event.  Watermill Express also donated two bicycles and seven scooters, which were given to students who raised the most money for the American Heart Association.

The Jump Rope for Heart is a national educational fund raising program that teaches elementary school students the importance of physical activity in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  The event promotes the value of exercise as well as the importance of giving back to the community.  Money raised at the event goes to support lifesaving heart and stroke research.

The American Heart Foundation uses this program to increase physical activity among elementary aged children.  Regular periods of moderate or physical activity enhance the health, academic performance and attitudes of children in the classroom.

BRIGHTON, Colorado – July 1, 2013 – Watermill Express, the nation’s largest drive-up vendor of pure drinking water, provided water to the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s annual Week of the Young Child event held at South Texas College in Rio Grande City, Texas.

Watermill Express donated 45 gallons of water and 40 pounds of Waterocks® Ice to approximately 1200 attendees of the annual celebration.  Watermill Express also handed out reusable 1-liter sports bottles as trivia prizes to children who stopped by the Watermill Express tent.

The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.  The National Association for the Education of Young Children is the world’s largest early childhood education association, with nearly 100,000 members and a network of over 300 local, state and regional affiliates.

BRIGHTON, Colorado – April 16, 2013 – Watermill Express, the nation’s largest drive-up vendor of pure drinking water, provided water to the March of Dimes/March for Babies Walk at the Brownsville Events Center in Brownsville, Texas.

Watermill Express provided 45 gallons of water and 40 pounds of Waterocks® Ice for the March of Dimes walk.  Approximately 800 walkers participated in the three mile walk.

The March of Dimes Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to aiding women in pregnancy and promoting infant health.  The walk was held to raise money for the treatment of babies born prematurely.

BRIGHTON, Colorado – April 1, 2013  – Watermill Express, the nation’s largest drive-up vendor of pure drinking water, provided 50 gallons of water and 40 pounds of  Waterocks® Ice to over 500 participants and volunteers of the Brownsville ISD Special Olympics at Sam’s Stadium in Brownsville, Texas.

Watermill Express handed out cups of chilled water to all participants and volunteers who took part in the 60 different skill and endurance events at this year’s Brownsville Special Olympics.

“Year after year, this is a terrific event for everyone in attendance,” said Bobbijo Trujillo, volunteer for the Brownsville ISD Special Olympics.  “We couldn’t put on a great event like this without the help of Watermill Express.  Thanks to all of our supporters everyone keeps a smile on their face throughout the entire day and that’s what this event is all about.”

Upon completion of the events, athletes received awards for their hard work.  Gold, silver and bronze medals were given to athletes who finished in the top three, with ribbons being awarded to fourth through sixth place.  This year’s event marked the 9th straight year that Watermill Express has donated water to the Brownsville Special Olympics.

BRIGHTON, Colorado – April 1, 2013 – Watermill Express, the nation’s largest drive-up vendor of pure drinking water, provided over 50 gallons of water and 40 pounds of Waterocks® Ice to the approximately 500 participants and volunteers of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Great Strides Mission 5K Walk at the Sharyland Plantation in Mission, Texas.

Watermill Express handed out cups of chilled water at three different stops along the walk. Watermill Express also donated 50 Watermill Express refillable water bottles to the walkers with the top times in each age group.

Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest fund raising event.  Because of events like the Great Strides Mission 5K, funding for research is progressing daily.  Over 30,000 children in the United States have Cystic Fibrosis, but thanks to research and medical advancements, these children are now expected to live a much more fulfilling and extended life.

Watermill Express donated 85 gallons of water and 60 pounds of Waterocks® Ice to approximately 900 students and faculty from 17 Harlingen elementary schools during the event.  Watermill Express also donated two bicycles, five scooters and 75 reusable water bottles to the event, which were used as rewards to students who raised the most money for the American Heart Association.
